Strawberry Lolita Tea Party

Yesterday I traveled up to phoenix in a car packed with lolitas to the second anual Strawberry Lolita Tea Party! Now dispite being lost for about half an hour because Google Maps sucks, once we were finally found and rescued, we all had a blast!

I am really happy how my outfit turned out! I bever know what to wear with this dress because It is my only ivory colored piece I have aside from my AatP wristcuffs! But I think I balanced out the white and the ivory nicely here. I wish I had more brown pieces to pair with it. Or I wonder if black would look ok too? I really love this dress and wish I had more ways to wear it!

I only took one photo myself, because I usually ALWAYS forget I have my camera, but I should be able to upload everything tomorrow from this meet, and from Con-Nichiwa! :]

I had a blast and I met new people and saw old friends!

The only thing bad was some guys disgusting behavior at a gas station. While everyone had been kind and plesant all day long, as we were gasing up for the trip home, soke guy started to take our photos without permission. That set one of my friends off and she started to lecture him. I told him we would gladly let him take a photos, all we ask is the common courtesy of asking first. He then replies thats what we get for "dressing like its halloween." I cant believe some peoples lack of manners! So after that comment, I was done and I broke out my camera and started taking pictures back which he promptly tried to dodge. I think that was the most ridiculouse attitude I have ever run into wearing lolita.

Just because we dress sweet and innocent dosent mean were going to take that stuff lying down. Especially when were with friends, we stick up for eachother and got eachothers back!

Con-Nichiwa 2012

Hi! I am finally back! I had such a great weekend at the con! It was so much fun and I ran into a bunch of old friends I never thought I would see! Allthough I havnt had the chance to upload all my photos, I did manage to find other photos of my outfits to share for the time being to go along with the rundown of the con!

FRIDAY- Day 1

For starters, the convention was only a 15-20 minuet drive away from my house, and it was $45 for the whole weekend pass. So I didnt spend much and I also didnt have to worry about getting a room at the hotel. I think I only spent about $15 in gas driving back and forth every day, and thats only because I have a horrible sence of direction and I got lost the first day, saturday i got lost trying to find a Carl's Jr to get some burgers, and somehow I got lost driving home on sunday.

While there wasnt much going on the first day, It was a nice way to scope out the area, meet a few people before it got too hectic, and check out the vendors hall. I actually ended up running into two of my best friends from high school! So that was really fun to catch up! I tried my hand at doing the para para dance to the Carmel Song, and failed epicly, but it was loads of fun! I even ended up being in the J-fasion show! I was really scared at first, but as soon as I was on stage it all went away. I really hope I have a chance to do it again!



SATURDAY- Day 2

I ended up leaving early Friday night so I could spend the rest of the night preparing for Saturday. The frst thing I went to was a Gyaru pannel, which is another style I have loved from afar (mainly hime gyaru). It was really interesting seeing all the different styles of gyaru! I also saw a lolita coordination pannel. Though I dont think I need it, its always fun never the less to see what others have to say about lolita, and it was fun to see the new lolita faces! We also had a swap-meet during the con. We got to go threw eachothers things, and even the con-goers got to look too. I ended up selling about half the things I brought with me, which were 2 GIANT tote bags. Most of the people who bought from me were people who were new to the fashion or who were interested in starting. I will admit I was very annoyed at some people who scoffed at my prices, not knowing how much it originally cost ME! But if they do actually pursue lolita, they will learn! Haha XD

After the swap was over, it was time to get down to some serious business at the con rave! It was my first con rave so I was really excited!! Though I was telling someone I was excited because Ive only gone to real raves in the past, but I have a lot of online friends who have only gone to con raves, and I was eagre to experience on, and he just looks at me and said, "I know your dressed in lolita, but you dont have to be a snob!"

I was so shocked! I allready have a fear of people calling me a snobby lolita at cons since I hear a lot of stories of newbies having bad experiences with the more experienced girls. But that was so insulting to me to be called a snob! Anywho, asie from that it was tons of fun and I danced a ton! Untill the DJ played dubstep...which I admit I like dubstep, but I DONT KNOW HOW TO DANCE TO THAT!!! In fact, I dont know anyone who knows really how to dance to it. Its just undanceable! XD And the DJ wasnt very good af transitioning from song to song. The transitions were not smooth at all. He would go from a pretty trance like dance beat straight into some wierd rock music, to some super fast upbeat anime sounding song. It was kind of odd, but I was happy and danced, and I even traded kandi with a few people! I cant wait for my next con and con rave!

This was a fun and relaxing day. I went to a few cosplay pannels, but mainly just walked around before I had to leave for reality. I bought a few things from vendors and got lasf minuet photos. I had to leave a bit early because I did have work later which sucked, but it wasnt so bad.

I cant wait to have another chance to go to a convention! I cant believe its been 5 years since my last one! Stay tuned and I will be posting all the pictures from this past weekend! I have so many it needs a post all too themselves! It will also include makeup closeups and hopefully better/lezs blurry photos of my outfits.

Where Did I Dissapear To?

This past week I have been so busy! First of all, I got several orders at the same time at my etsy store. Here are the things I have been working on:

And now I am working on another beadkini thats going to have tons of purple daisys all over it! Which is actually an idea I have wanted to try for a really long time, but never got around to it.

Aside from that, what has really kept me away and busy was a little baby mouse, who I just called Baby.

My ex boyfriend and I had a snake together. Now that we dont live together and arnt with eachother, our variable king snake Iris lives with him. A little over a week ago I went to bisit the both of them, and I picked up a baby mouse on the way over. For whatever reason, Iris didnt eat. So, I started to feel bad and didnt want the baby mouse to starve to death if it wasnt going to be eaten, so I took her home with me and took care of her.

This past week my life has been filled with constant worry if I wasnt home to take care of her, smelling like baby formula when I was home, and when I would go spend the night at my sort-of-boyfriend-but-im-not-ready-for-that-yet's house, I would pack a bag of baby suplies and bring her over with me so I could still see him, and still take care of her at the same time. Unfortunately when I woke up for her feeding, I discovered that she had passed on.

I tried really hard to not get attached just in case she didnt make it. I didnt want to know her gender or give her a name. But a week of hand feeding a baby like that with a bottle or a miniature droper, seeing that she was in fact a girl (male mice and rats do not have nipples, so eventhough i didnt want to know the gender, as soon as I saw, I knew), and by just refering to her as baby, it ended up sticking as her name, I couldnt help but become attached, so now I am quite devestated.

But, I suppose on a happier note, I am going to attend my first convention in 5 years! I am going all 3 days, and my sort-of-boyfriend said he will try to go with me too! So now I have an excuse to wear my new raver lolita outfit even sooner! Plus try an OTT outfit with my black Milky Planet jsk! It is next weekend and I am really excited! Plus, all of the lolitas will be in the same place, so its going to be loads of fun!

Though I have been to conventions before, I never went to any of the con raves. So next weekend will be my first one! To tell you the truth, I am sort of nervouse about it. I am use to real raves, so I dont know what to expect from a con rave. I have heard scary storie of people being snooty, and when asked to trade kandi, they will stick up their noses at you. Wich of course is the opposite of the real raves I go to where everyone is friendly and everyone wants to trade, and you can feel the PLUR in the air! (Plur or plurr is the rave motto for pleace love unity arespect and responsibility)

But I will have tons of pictures to share next week from the event! I am so darn excited!!!!! XD

Vintage finds, Bloody Valentine 2, and the Renesance Festival

A few weeks ago I found these two beautiful paires of vintage lace gloves. One pair is pink, the other is black. I have always thought long lace gloves were a wondeful and little used accessory, even in the lolita world! I only ever see them used by the lovely Asuka of Angelic Pretty, whom I will admit, I have always loved her style!!

So it is not a suprise that I wore my first lovely pair of black lace gloves to Saturdaythe 18th's event titled "Bloody Valentine 2". Here is a pic of my outfit before I left the house:

It was wicked fun! I even got all bloodied up! Now here are some pictures i took with my bff Emily!

She isn't a lolita so she was trying to look at my petticoat and take pictures so finally i said "fine!!!!" And I just flashed her to get it over with! XP

Me and my bestie! <3 And of course like the last club event I went to, they had a professional photographer. I kindalook all derped up in this photo because I went to the blood station and got covered! It was really fun!

The next thing I did was on Sunday I went to the Renaisance Festival with my ex boyfriend, who also just happens to be my best (dude) friend. It was so much fun! I ate a giant turkey leg, watched the jousting tournamant, watched a family circus perform juggling, and watvhex a dead guy cokedy routine! Even though we really didnt have money to spend on anything, it was a lot of fun to just look at all the crafts that were on display like hand made glass blown figurines and cups, candels, woodwork, and hand sculpted leather masks.

While I was having too much of a blast to take any photos, I did for once remember to take makeup and outfit shots beforeI left the house.

Everything here is Angelic Pretty except, obviously, my converse sneakers. At first I was going to wear my Angelic Pretty tea parties, but then I remembered how dusty it can be, and we would be walking around for hours, so I went with maximum comfort. However, I don't think that they even clash that badly with the rest of my outfit. :]

I am also really happy with how my makeup came out for the day! Since Milky Planet is a sparkley print I wanted to have as much glitter on my face as posible to match it! All the actors and workers kept on calling me Lady Sparkle Eyes. It was really funny! One of the older gentelman working even knew what lolita was! Apparently he lived in Japan for some time and knew all about it and thought it was awesome that I wear it too! Not just him, but I was aproached about evry 5 minuets by people telling me how cute I was or how much they loved my dress/outfit! It really bosted my confidence! And since I looked so different compared to everyone else who was either in normal clothes or mideval wear, whenever we went to the pub stand, they never rechecked our IDs becaused they remembered me!

All in all, It was an amazing day! I wish I would have gotten more pictures from the event, but I guess there is always next year! :]

The next one is obviously Christmas themed, but I have no idea what to wear! Maybe it wont even be Christmas themed...maybe I'll just go plain OTT? Or go for a gothic coord and make a holly and ivy wreath for my hair would be cute too. All the possibilities, I am really excited! :]

Past two events + new purchases

Ok! So not only have I found a new job, but Ive scored some really cute things, and went to a couple cool events! Life is treating me good!

First of all, a few Fridays ago I went to a rave in Phoenix called Kandiland! It was so much fun! So many of my friends were there!!! I had friends from all over Arizona show up, and all over California as well!!! It was great to see everyone in one place! Especially since I hardly ever get to see most of them! I had the cutest Hello Kitty outfit planned! Unfortunately I couldnt find my Hello Kitty fleece hat! :[ Also, I made a beadkini for one of my friends and she was going to make me a matching bead skirt in exchange, bu I guess she didnt finish it in time, so I ended up wearing a purple tutu that I made. It was actually the first tutu I ever made, but unlike my other tutus I never got to wear it untill now! Sorry for the bad pictures! I forgot my camera at home and my friends who did bring their cameras...well, we were having too much fun to remember to take more. ;p

And a closeup picture. I didnt really like how my makeup turned out...I think its usually better, but everyone else liked it so that made me feel better about it! :] This is one of my really good friends from way out of town. I was really excited to see him! We hung out all day before the rave and some other friends joined us after the rave to eat at iHop, which is kind of a tradition for me and my local rave family!

All though I had a blast though, I was really dissapointed with the organization. The outdoor area was SO tiny! I have been to that same venue before and the outside are was big! I have no idea why they made it so tiny! Especially since it was packed! If I can remember corectly, tickets were sold to people in 23 different states! I have no clue why they didnt prepare for it. Also, at 10pm they ran out of water for 2 hours! So it was hot and packed like sardines, and no water. :/ Aside from that though, I did enjoy myself.

And if anybody is familiar with Crumpet who runs this site dedicated to sharing hundreds of kandi picture cuff patterns, then I have cool news to share! She was at the rave too! I evnded up trading her one of my 3Ds for one of her cuffs, and she said it was really pretty and loved it! :D I am really happy I actually had the chance to trade her! It's like celebrity kandi! ♥



Ok! And so event #2 was at a local bar, and it was called Vampire Masqurade! I honestly had no idea what to wear for this event! I had just gotten home from my first day of training and threw something together! However, I think it actually turned out really cute for an all offbrand thrown together outfit! I wore my underbust corset most of the night, but took it off around 2am, which made it look sort of like a gal hime outfit, but it was really cute! I want to get more flowy tops like it now so I can experiment with more styles! BUT enough of my babling and on to the pictures!

There were a few really nice photos taken by a photographer there, but I have yet to see them released, but I will definately share them as soon as I find them!^^

This same night was also when the new Angelic Pretty lucky packs were released online! I was so excited, except they were sold out a mere 3 minuets after they were released...

However, I did manage to order the new Angelic Pretty print Decoration Dreams in the sax colorway! I am so stoaked to get this set! Even though I honestly prefer more subtle things, and black, Angelic Pretty just seems to have this wicked spell over me! Every so often I see a print that i must have! I do try to keep it to jumperskirts though, so I can pair it up with a black blouse and socks to kind of town it down. However, I think I may just do an OTT sweet coord with this new set. I just cant resist all the adorable ponys! Besides, blue is my favorite color!

So, even though I know there are going to be a ton of people wearing it the typical coords that you would find in the add, I want to wear it that way as well...at LEAST once! ♥ Then I'll mix it up with the rest of my wardrobe. But even though the color and the ponies are what sold me, this is why I fell in love:

Allthough, honestly I really need to take a break from buying lolita till my birthday! XD So I think I can wait untill May to get anything else! :]

Armin van Buuren

So at the beginning of September I drove several hours to another town to see the #1 DJ in the world, god of trance music, Armin van Buuren! I was so suprised to find out that he was playing within driving distance of my town, so I couldnt NOT GO! I decided to wear my Sheep Garden to the show.

Makeup:

So I paid extra so I could get VIP tickets, because, well, it's Armin! The event was helled all day at a small resourt. The stage was poolside, which was pretty cool. Before Armin came on there were other local artists playing. The majority of the people who attended were all bros and people who dont typically go to raves, so it was a little odd.

While Armin's set was beautiful and amazing, I was really put off by the people in attendance. While one set was going a bunch of people thought i would be cool to start calling and chanting for Armin to come out and the current djs to step down which was incredibly rude. You would never see that sort of thing at any rave. Secondly, when Armin finally did come out, again, stupid bros thought it would be cool to keep on throwing beach balls everywhere, and they kept on bouncing off of the equipment on stage, and evin hit Armin in the head a few times! I was incredibly embarrased by everyones rude behavior! Third of all, my friend and I stood at the very front of the stage for over an hour before Armin even came out so we would be sure to front and center for his set befor it got crowded. I was front and center for Armin and it was amazing!!! What wasnt amazing was the stupid little girls behind me shoving me into the rail trying to get past me. So, I danced ever crazier, jumping up and down, and shaking my booty, making sure that unless they wantet their toes steped on or they wanted to get booty smashed, they would let ke have my space. Same goes for the guy who "dropped" his phone behind the rail in front of me and the girl to my right, who tried to get infront of us that way. Fortunately we were small enough to squish back in front of him and we both pushed him back into the crowed.

And my final dissapointment was that I spent extra for VIP, but they didnt have anything for VIP. But it was Armin and It was definately worth seeing him live, and so incredibly close! I was probably about 3 feet away from him! <3
