As you may or may not know, I recently moved to a somewhat sketchy side of town. Not the worst, but not the best either. Especially compared to the side of town I moved from. So, since I wear my lolita clothing daily, or at least on a near daily basis, I was terrified of what to expect from people on this side of town! But, living on my own, this is all I can afford at the moment. At first, I didnt wear lolita at all! Then, slowly, i started to wear a skirt paired with a tanktop. Starting out slowly, you know? Then I slowly started to wear my jsks without a blouse...and you know what? It was ok! Now Im back at the point where I am wearing exactly what I want to again! And wearing what I love and makes me happy also gives me confidence!

I honestly believe that confidence is the key to getting positive feedback from people around you! In fact, I was so nervouse about wearing lolita at first, but I have only had 2 negative experiences since I moved at the beginning of January, and they wernt even that bad! Just mildly irritating! Aside from that, I have had tons of compliments on a daily basis! I have even been hit on, and asked out while just walking my dogs in lolita! And not by some creeper looking hobos or anything, but by actual guys who seem normal!

I feel that if someone is a bully, they are going to go after meak little prey. So dont look scared or intimidated or else you are quite likely to be singled out. Bullies pick people apart because it makes them feel better and they want to get a reaction out of you. So if you carry yourself with confidence and you feel comfortable, you are lot less likely to run into trouble.

But thats just in my experience. I may be strong willed, stubborn and confident now, but there was a time when I was very meek, sky, and bullied all the time. I would get teased for being half hispanic-half white, for having curly hair, because i loved to read, because I was smart, etc. It really broke me down for a long time. Then one day I decided I didnt care what they thought. They were not my friends. I didnt hang out with them. So why should I care? I should be proud of all thoese thing that they made fun of me for. That is what makes me ME! So I started feeling comfortable with myself, and I started to gain confidence. They slowly stoped picking on me when I quit giving them a reaction. And ever since then, I have rarely encountered any problems with anyone regardless of how I look or dress.

I know it may be hard to get the confidence at first. It was a little unnerving to all of a sudden lack the confidence to wear my clothes that i love so much. But, just take it easy and slow untill you feel comfortable and move on to the next step, and so on and so forth untill you can wear a full blown lolita coordinate with your head heald high, and a giant smile on your face!

Sorry for such a long post today but it was just something thats been on my mind recentlly. I should hopefully resume with the 30 day challange tomorrow. My bedroom light went out so its too. dark to take any pictures back there.

Day 21- Your favorite fictional lolita

Well, as you might realize, there isnt many fictional lolita characters out there. I was trying to find it earlier, but it seems to have dissapeared, but there was an online comic calld "Confessions of an American Lolita" which was roughly based on what actually happens in the real life lolita communities. If I had to choose anyone, it would be that main character! Mainly because she was so...well, NORMAL! I found it back in '08, but I never even saw another chapter come out after the first one. Regardless, I loved it! I wish it didnt dissapear so I could of shown it to the world!

30 Day Lolita Challange- Day 20

Day 20 –A picture of a lolita friend

I have a lot of friends that i met through the lolita fashion! I can't just pick one photo, so I will use a photo from a meet up that was last summer. It was such a blast!!!

All these girls are amazing and I am do fortunate to know them!

30 Day Lolita Challange- Day 19 cont.

Day 19- What is in your makeup bag?

I know, I left off on this challange a long time ago. But, I am not a quitter, and I am determined to finish this challange! I have just been held up with moveing, among a ton of other crazy things that have been going on lately.

You know, I never really knotice how much makeup I had untill I started to move! I am not going to show you all of it because I have a whole box, but rather the most often used...which is still rather quite a bit!

My rainbow of glitter. I have various shades of each color including darker shades, dusty colors, and even pastels. I do mostly use white glitter though, because it tends to be more style neurtal.

Again, I have tons of eyeliner not only just solid colors and gitter eyeliner, but liquids and pencils/pen depending on weather i am doing plain basic eye makeup, or drawing hears, stars or other swirls and designs on my face. I also alway have my mascara, red lipstick, and eyelash glue.

And last but not least are my eyeshadows and foundation. Again, I have solid colors, solids with glitter mixed in, and straight up glitter eyeshadow. I have a ton more colors, but since I work 6 days a week now, I tend to keep my makeup pretty work friendly during work days unless I am off of work for the day, or have a fun event planned to go to after work.

Well, now that I am sort of settled I hope to finish this challange soon!!! And once I am no longer living out of boxes I want to do a wardrobe video. My new place is quite small compared to my last apartment, so I have been trying hard to get everything organized to the best of my ability. I even hung some of my headbows on the wall. Not only is it more visually appealing, but It is eadier to see and grab whichever headbow I need for my daily coord.

Ah, and speaking of daily coord, here is my outfit for the day:

Accessories: Pink Macaroon, handmade, Metamorphose, claire's
Skirt: We're All Mad Here
Top: Too Fast
Socks: Bodyline

New Arrival!

I just came back from a walk with my dogs. Before I headed back to my apartment, I decided to check the mail. And what did I find in there? A box with my new Milky Planet jsk and headbow!!!

Of course as soon as I got inside I had to try it on!

Outfit: I am wearing head-to-toe Angelic Pretty

I think this is the most comfortable jsk I have ever worn! I think I am determined now to hunt down more halter neck jsks! And quite frankly I really don't care if it's "breaking the rules" because I honestly have never been the one for "rules" but, I think it looks lovely without a blouse! Especially since it is barely February and it is allready starting to get hot and gross outside!

The only thing I am not too keen about is that this headbow is so huge, I ront know how to wear it! My hair is really short and really thin, and it is getting way too hot out for wigs now, so I need to figure out some new hair styles to even out the giant bow! :D

Also, later on today I will be meeting up with some other ruffle butts for possibly dinner, and we are going out to a club tonight for an event called Bloddy Valentine. For this event I will be wearing my black Bodyline OP because apparently there will be a "blood station" and I dare not get my beautiful clothes stained or ruined by fake blood!

Well I hope to post an outfit shot within the next few days! And until then, here is my makeup shot for the day/event:

cute mini pepper spray

A while back I just happend to run into a link for pepper spray thats even the sweetest of lolitas would fawn over!

So the apartments I moved into just happened to be on a cheaper, but slightly shady side of town. My mom has been absolutely crazy with fear ever since I told her where I was moveing to. To assure her of my safety, I decided to purchase this cute pepper spray. Honestly, with how cute it was, I couldnt resist! Not to mention it matches perfectly on my key ring!

When the package arrived, it actually came with two sets of pepper spray! One pink, and one green. I havnt decided where I will put the green one yet. Maybe as a little charm on one of my bags. Just in case :]

Unfortunately I lost the link to the page, but I found it on Amazon.com. My phone internet has been funky lately so I havnt been able to navigate Amazon to find it again.

EDIT: FOUND IT!
